These terms are to avoid any miscommunication between Home Removal Services and our customers. Please read them through prior to your move and let us know if you have any questions.

1. The Quote Unless otherwise stated the quote is a fixed price and does not include materials, storage, customs duties and inspections or any other fees whatsoever. We may either increase or decrease the price if any of the following have not been taken into account when preparing our quotation and confirmed by us in writing:

a) You do not accept the quote, in writing, within 28 days with a date in place for the removal, confirmed by us in writing.

b) The removal is not carried out or completed within three months due to your delay.

c) Our costs change because of changes in taxation or other costs beyond our control.

d) We have to collect or deliver goods to floors higher than those agreed, in writing, at the time of booking.

e) Additional services, including moving or storing extra goods, are supplied by us (these conditions will also apply to these services).

f) Inadequate access preventing free movement of the goods without mechanical equipment or structural alteration, or the approach, road or drive prevents our vehicles to load and/or unload within 20 metres of the doorway, meaning that we have to do extra work.

g) Breakdown of lifts or escalators which were working at the time of quote, meaning extra work.

h) Any parking charges or parking fines that we have to pay in order to carry out services on your behalf (see condition 2).

i) Events outside our reasonable control cause delays.

j) Dismantling or assembling any flat-pack furniture or fittings.

k) We agree in writing to increase our limit of liability as set out in clause 10. In all the above circumstances the price will be adjusted accordingly.

2. Parking must be arranged and is the responsibility of the customer. Please make sure you take care of that, as any parking fines must be paid by the customer to the driver or the removal team manager on completion of the job.

3. Extra payment of £8 is required if travelling through the congestion charge.

4. Extra fuel charges may apply when travelling outside the M25.

5. There is a minimum charge of £44.50 for goods going to the recycling centre, tip, dump or waste centre because local councils increased their rates for commercial vans (see "London waste recycling units" for nearest point).

6. Jobs running over the estimated completion time will be charged at half hour increments.

7. There is a 2 hour minimum on all jobs. After 2 hours, rates are charged in half hour increments.

8. Our hourly and mileage charges & quotations (pre-priced tasks) are inclusive of VAT.

9. Payment must be paid by cheque 5 working days prior to the job date or by cash immediately after the job is finished. A 5% fee applies to payments made by debit/credit cards.

10. Our arrival times are estimated, and although we do our best to be on time, circumstances out of our control (such as heavy congestion) may cause slight delays.

11. We are not liable for the electrical and mechanical derangement unless shown to be as a result of physical external damage to the item concerned or as a result of fire, flood, collision or overturning of road vehicles or other conveyances.

12. We are not liable for the breakage, scratching, denting, chipping, staining and tearing of items packed by you including trunks, suitcases and the like unless reasonably attributable to physical damage to such items caused by collision or overturning of road vehicles or other conveyances.

13. We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property after job is complete and payment is received.

14. Your Responsibilities (you need to)

14.1 You need to confirm to us that the goods being removed are your property or that you have the authority of the owner to enter into this contract in relation to the removal of the goods and the storage thereof. Obtain at your own expense all permissions, consents, licences, permits or customs documents required for the removal of the good.

14.2 Be present, either personally, or through an authorised representative, during the collection and delivery process.

14.3 Prepare and stabilise all appliances prior to their removal.

14.4 Take reasonable precautions to prevent the unauthorised removal of goods not belonging to you and check to ensure that your goods are duly removed.

14.5 Provide proper protection for goods left unattended or in unoccupied premises.

14.6 We will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or additional expense that may occur as a result of your failure to fulfil these obligations (13.1-13.5) unless by reason of our own negligence or breach of contract.

14.7 Each van load is covered for loss or damage up to £10,000 of customers' belongings during transit, Home Removal Services is not liable for the first £250.00 per claim.

It is the customers responsibility to ensure extra insurance is in place if necessary.

This contract is subject to the Law and Jurisdiction of England.
